On Sunday afternoon the Merri Creek at East Brunswick, opposite the terminus of Albion street, was so much swollen by the flood waters that a Chinaman’s garden, situated at the point where the creek makes a sharp a bend, was completely inundated. The garden in question is a large one, but the the waters rose to such a great height that the Chinese were forced to re-move their horses from the out-build-ings owing to the waters being up to the horses’ knees. It is estimated that something like £1oo worth of damage was done to this garden alone by the flood waters. Other Chinamen’s gardens along the creek were also flooded.
